Wounds and cuts

Our pets are susceptible to minor cuts, scratches, bites and stings, particularly those with outdoor life styles and daring natures. Cuts and scratches, scrapes, insect bites, fights with other pets in the surroundings. These all can result in a miserable state in pet with consequent risk of infection. Like humans, animals can also experience allergies and reactions to toxic plants like Poison Ivy and Poison Oak.

The majority of these little injuries cure fairly rapidly on their own and with no long-term adverse effects, chiefly in healthy pets with strong immunity. Though, the immediate pain, uneasiness and swelling can be unlikable and incapacitating for your pet and it is vital to care for these wounds suitably. Also, there may be a high danger of illness in otherwise minor wounds if they are not appropriately cared for.

As there is increased danger of infection, pet wounds are frequently treated with antibiotics taken orally or applied locally on the affected or the wounded part. They may also be cured with topical corticosteroid ointments. While these can be efficient in the short term, many veterinary doctors believe that they may be not good for your pet’s health as it directly targets the immune system of the body.  More over these topical antibiotic, corticosteroid and antiseptic creams are also habitually licked off by pets and can contain matter that may not be good for them to consume.

Ayurvedic herbs are good for relieving from pain and helps in reducing inflammation of wounds, bites, and insect stings and other minor wounds and allergies. Mild support of natural healing, in addition to prevention of infection without the use of antibiotics has been experienced by herbalists for centuries and can be of great advantage to your pet.
